What is acupuncture?

Acupuncture is
one aspect of an ancient comprehensive medical system (TCM) which, after thousands of years of practice, remains highly effective for modern health concerns.

Both chronic and acute conditions are helped as acupuncture not only treats symptoms, but looks deeper to treat the underlying cause of the ailment for long-term relief without the harmful or unpleasant side affects so often seen with medications and surgeries.

How does acupuncture work?

Acupuncture is based on the concept of chi (energy) lines that run throughout the body.  By inserting hair-thin needles into specific points on these lines of energy (meridians) the body is able to recover a more harmonious existence.

Acupuncture points not only help specific ailments related to each point, they also help to restore more equal flow of chi so that each meridian runs more or less equally to all others.  The points help move chi away from areas that are too 'flooded' and bring it to the areas that are experiencing an energetic 'drought'.

What kind of needles are used?

Acupuncture needles are as thin as a human hair. ONLY sterile, single-use, disposable, stainless steel needles are used in treatment.

You do not have to be sick for acupuncture to help you feel better and stay well!

Regular acupuncture treatments are a terrific option for those looking to maintain or increase their level of health and wellness.
